Llamilet is the current Executive Director of the Amara Legal Center. As the daughter of formerly undocumented immigrants, Llamilet became a lawyer to provide a voice for the marginalized. She was an advocate and supporter of Amara’s work even before joining the staff. In her most recent role as a public defender at the Office of the Public Defender in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Llamilet had the opportunity to represent many clients who had been involved in commercial sex, many of whom were survivors of sex trafficking. Now, she seeks to continue to provide excellent legal representation to victims of commercial sex, connect survivors with vital social services, and raise public awareness of the legal issues facing our clients
Llamilet holds a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, OR, and a B.A. from Dickinson College, PA. Llamilet is licensed to practice law in Maryland where she is actively involved in several bar associations. She is Treasurer for the Prince George’s County Bar Association, Board Member of the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association, and Chair of the Bench-Bar Section Council for the Maryland State Bar Association.
